Pool Etiquette
Please observe all guidelines posted in the Club’s aquatic areas and familiarize yourself with our pool etiquette.
General
- All swimmers must shower before entering the pools
- Pool use may be restricted when classes or programs are going on
- Please return all equipment to the bin
- Glass containers are prohibited in and around the pool area
- No food or drink is allowed in the pool or hot tub
- Lanes and deck chairs cannot be saved
- Cell phone use is prohibited
- Swim lessons can only be taught by Golden Gateway staff
- All children under the age of 14 must be under direct adult supervision
Lap Pool
- No diving
- Non-lap swimmers (walking, running, therapy, and Aqua Fit) must yield to lap swimmers by moving to the other pool
- When all lanes are full, sharing lanes is required. The wall lanes are the last to be shared.
- When sharing, please stand to one side of the lane on the wall until the other swimmer acknowledges you
- Swim lessons may use wall lane, displacing current swimmer if necessary
- Children under 13 may only use the Lap Pool if they are supervised by a staff member
- Children ages 13 - 15 may use the Lap Pool if they are supervised by an adult and can swim laps
Recreational Pool
- Swim diapers and swim pants are required for ages 3 and under
- The lap lane is first come, first serve
- Pool equipment is reserved for lap swimmers and swim lessons only
- Only staff may remove the Aqua Fit equipment
- The teaching table can only be used by staff
- Only staff can remove the lane line
- Sitting or climbing over the lane line is prohibited
- No diving
Hot Tub
- The spa is reserved for ages 15 and over
- Pregnant women, the elderly, and those with health problems should consult their physician before use
- Hot water immersion while under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, drugs, or other medicine may lead to serious consequences and is not permitted
- Do not use alone
- Long exposure may result in nausea, dizziness, and fainting
