Aquatics

The Aquatics Department features two pristine outdoor pools, a highly trained professional staff, and a wide selection of programs for adults, children, and families. To learn about our aquatic programs for children, visit Just 4 Kids: Aquatics.

Lap Pool

Our Lap Pool is 25 yards in length, 6 lanes wide, and is kept at approximately 78 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit year-round. It is reserved for adult lap swimming, the masters swim program, and advanced swim lessons. Please check the Lap Pool schedule (at left) for program times, since lap swimming may be restricted then.

Recreation Pool

Our Recreation Pool is 19 yards in length and is kept at 87 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit year-round. It is used for swimming lessons and water exercise classes throughout the year, and for Kids Camp in the summer. This pool is designed especially for recreational swimming and for families with children under 15. We recommend that you pick up a copy of usage guidelines for the “Rec Pool” at the Club or by contacting the Aquatics Department directly.

Note: There is no lifeguard on duty. During the summer, a pool monitor is available to assist members, facilitate swim programs, and help enforce pool rules to ensure everyone's safety.

Outdoor Hot Tub

The hot tub is for adults only and is ideal for relaxing or for recuperating after a vigorous workout. Lighting is provided for night use.

Aquatics Staff

Golden Gateway’s Aquatics staff is highly trained and includes some of the most experienced instructors in the industry. You’ll appreciate our coaches’ wide range of experience, which includes competitive swimming (age group, collegiate, and masters), open water swimming, and water polo.

Our coaches are capable of instructing all levels, from complete beginners to advanced lap swimmers. We’ve prepared swimmers for triathlons, marathon swimming, and open water swimming. We even specialize in working with people who fear the water.
